Hyderabad Metro Second Phase Proposed Lines
Hyderabad Metro rail second Phase Detailed Report (DPR) is ready. This project to be launched with the name Air X Way and the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has handed over the detailed project report to the Telangana state government. However, the Government will give clarification on the second phase Metro Railway routes only after analyzing the complete report and after making the required additions or changes. Key officials of the Urban Development Department said that there will be a rise in the list of second phase routes, a few more are expected to be added along the proposed lines in later stages. The Government is now focussing on to start the Metro second phase works as the first phase works are almost done. As a part of this, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has been tasked to create a comprehensive report on this project.
The Government has decided to start the second phase of the Metro project in January 2018. On this regard, it has been decided to increase the connectivity to the airport from all over the city and construct a second phase of 31km from Shamshabad Airport to Rayadurgam to move freely from one part of the city to another. The officials also decided to start the connectivity work of 26.2 km between BHEL to Lakdi ka pool and 5.1. km route from Nagole and L B Nagar. There is also a proposal for EIIL connectivity route from Uppal to Mallapur.
Hyderabad Metro will connect to Shamshabad Airport through Rayadurgam, Gachibowli and TS Police Academy, as well as the route from Miyapur, BHEL, Madinaguda, Hafeezpet, Kondapur, Khazaguda Junction, Sheikpet, Rethibowli and Mehidipatnam, is connected to Lakdi ka pool. Around 60 acres of land near Shamshabad airport has already been identified for the second phase of Metro. The first phase of Hyderabad Metro is built in PPP model, whereas for the second phase project, the Telangana state government decided to complete it by itself.
