Till now, 1.80 lakh people were travelling in Hyderabad Metro daily. This number increased to 2.21 lakhs daily, this is due to the start of the Ameerpet-Hi- tech City Metro. In the first week (i.e. on 25th March), the officials have announced the statistics of Metro passengers. Metro MD NVS Reddy also said that the number of passengers and the response is more likely to increase with the availability of first and last mile connectivity. He also explained the advantages of this environmental friendly metro to the IT companies. He held a meeting with 40 IT and IT- based executives and IT office developers on Tuesday at Metro Rail office in Begumpet. He further suggested running feeder busses from LB Nagar, Uppal and Miyapur stations. Just like how shuttle busses are being approved to run from Hi- Tech city station, Durgam cheruvu and surrounding IT offices within a range of 4 Kilometres, in the same way, the shuttle busses should run from the colonies around LB Nagar, Dilsukh Nagar, Nagole, Uppal and Miyapur. He also said that HMR is taking responsibility of permissions. He also added that parking spaces for Feeder busses will be provided at Metro stations. The feeder services which are run till Durgam Cheruvu and Hi- Tech city can be parked at Metro Mall. Within a short period, few companies like Novartis and Konilabs companies agreed to provide feeder services from their companies/ offices to the nearest Metro station, said L & T Hyderabad Metro Rail MD KVB Reddy. The representatives of IT companies met with the officials and asked them to issue monthly passes along with strip passes from station to station. KVB Reddy assured them that they would soon be issued.

Connecting buses with IT corridor
In the wake of availability of the Hyderabad metro till the high-tech city, the officials of the two departments have reviewed about the availability of the buses for several areas of Cyberabad. Kukatpally DVM Devadanam said that, a bus with route number 216 K / W will be available for every 15 minutes from Miyapur, Alvin Cross Road to the Wave Rock. These buses will run through Alvin Colony, Kondapur, Kothaguda, Botanical Garden, Anjayya Nagar, Gachibowli, Indira Nagar and Infosys.
