The examinations for the District Selection Committee (DSC) scheduled to be held from April 11 to 13 have been postponed in view of the elections for the Lok Sabha and Andhra Pradesh State Assembly.
Talking to newspersons here today, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) I V Subba Rao, after conducting video conference with all the District Collectors, said it had been decided to postpone the examinations in view of the first and second phase of general elections to be held on April 16 and 23 in the state.
Earlier, the CEO also held detailed discussions with the Principal Secretary of School Education and Director of Education in the day before taking the decision.
The examination would be held on May 29, 30 and 31.
The State Government had proposed to recruit 53,000 teachers in a single go through this test. Nearly six lakh candidates were to attend the examination.
