In many cities and towns, the major reason for the occurence of accidents or road mishaps is voilating the traffic rules. These violations do not have much punishments except for penalties in few hundreds. Many people are still repeating those mistakes. But in Ahmedabad city, in Gujarat this is not the case. If you are caught driving in wrong side for twice then your license will get cancelled. If an individual caught driving in wrong side for the first time, then an FIR will be filled and then their license will be suspended for 3-6 months. If the same person is caught driving on the wrong side then his/her license will be cancelled permanently. Ahmedabad traffic police and the Regional Transport Office (RTO) have brought this strict rule and even have cancelled several driving licenses already. With such strict rules motorists are fearing to voilate the traffic rules.
